The News Editor allows you to manage internal news by displaying headlines with links to articles and stories within your website. An optional RSS XML news feed is available.
Content Management News System
With a content management news system, you can add news to your website as it happens, or future date an article and set an expiration date to control when the news will appear on your website. The News Editor automatically maintains archives for easy recall.
Depending on your website design, you may prefer the News Editor to the Press Release Manager, or you may want to use both modules. The News Editor uses less formal formatting than the Press Release Manager.
Includes automatic email obfuscation of email addresses protects your website pages from web robots and harvesters.
Multiple Web Page Layouts Available
Choose from a variety of available layouts and mix and match within your website. Available layouts include:
- Lists with Titles and Descriptions, organized by "Types"
- Lists with Titles only
- Lists with Titles abbreviated to a specified number of characters
- Automatic paging after a specified number of articles is listed
- Full details of article when clicked
- Multi-page articles generate automatic pagination links
- "Headline Hyperlinks," which replace the details with a hyperlink to URLs
- "Document Hyperlinks," which replace the details with a hyperlink to an uploaded document (PDF)
Control When and How Your Articles Display
You may choose to display all articles within a specified number of days or display a specified maximum number of articles, regardless of the date. Choose from layouts that will auto-paginate your list of articles. By future dating a news article, you can control when the news appears on your website. By setting an Expires date, you can control when a news article is removed.
Organize Your News
You can setup different "Types" of News, each displaying different lists of articles. In your web pages, you can display all News Types on the same page, or display one News Type on one page and another News Type on another page. Allows you to reuse the News Editor in multiple areas of your website.
Add Images and Documents
As with all modules, the News Editor allows you to upload images and documents to display within the "details" of your news article. Web designers can specify automatic image scaling and placement of user-uploaded images. Hyperlinks to uploaded documents are automatically generated.
Publish News via RSS Feeds
RSS 2.0 feeds are available to publish your news articles to RSS readers. Automatically post news articles to RSS at the same time they are published in your website - no duplication of data entry. Consumers can subscribe to your RSS news feeds using their preferred RSS reader.
No Arbitrary Limits
Create unlimited News "Types" to categorize your news articles, and create unlimited news listings within them. Create an unlimited number of users with accounts to manage your news articles.
